The Secret is the Sauce
presented by Bomba Catering
In this culinary demonstration, you will work along side the chefs and:
- Prepare classic sauces that can be used to boost the flavor of your dishes
- Discuss sauces in different types of cuisines, including the mother sauces
- Learn how to make the perfect pan gravy
- Prepare a bechamel sauce and understand various ways to use it
- Understand the secrets to making the classic Italian tomato sauce, and variations on this sauce for different pasta dishes
- Make fruit-based sauces such as chutney
- Make oil-based sauces such as pesto
Tastings will be served of all the foods prepared including:
Herb Roasted Chicken with pan gravy
Pasta for tomato sauce, béchamel, pesto and other sauces
Bread for chutney tasting

The nearest train stop is the #2/#5 to President Street, which puts you at the corner of President Street and Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn. Walk one block south (with the traffic on Nostrand Avenue). At Carroll Street, walk one and three quarter blocks east (with the traffic on Carroll Street). Our house is on the right side, just before the yellow "Children Crossing" sign.
